Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors' Dreams on Sega Saturn is the console conversion of Capcom's 2D fighting game, the first entry in the Alpha line. It uses larger, hand-drawn sprites in an anime-influenced style and a six-button layout covering three punch and three kick strengths. Matches are fought as best-of-three rounds on side-view stages. The Alpha system introduces a multi-level super combo gauge, Alpha Counters for hitting back out of a block, and air blocking. The roster mixes Street Fighter II veterans with characters taken from Street Fighter and the Final Fight games, each with their own story sequences in the arcade mode. Along with the single-player ladder against CPU opponents, the game supports two-player versus matches and includes training options for practising motions and combos.
