Super Mario Bros. Deluxe brings the NES platformer to Game Boy Color. You run and jump through the Mushroom Kingdom as Mario or Luigi, using Super Mushrooms, Fire Flowers, and Starmen, riding Warp Pipes, and finishing stages at the flagpole. The smaller screen scrolls vertically as well as horizontally, and a button lets you peek ahead or above to plan jumps. Beyond the main quest, the cartridge adds extra modes accessible from a menu, including a challenge mode that asks you to find hidden Yoshi eggs and Red Coins and hit score targets within each level. Save files let you resume progress rather than starting over. Additional content unlocks as you play, and the game supports link cable play for competing with another player.
