Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo is a competitive falling-block puzzle game featuring super-deformed characters drawn from Capcom's Street Fighter and Darkstalkers casts. Coloured gems drop in pairs into your well, and matching colours placed next to each other form larger blocks. Nothing disappears until a matching crash gem touches the group, at which point the whole cluster clears at once. Bigger clusters and chains send counter gems into your opponent's playfield, cluttering their space until they can break them. Each character has a different pattern for how their attacks arrive, so matchups play out differently. Wins are shown through animated chibi fighters trading moves at the side of the screen. The Saturn version supports single-player play against the computer as well as head-to-head matches.
