Taz-Mania on the Super Nintendo is a platformer starring the Tasmanian Devil from the Warner Bros. cartoon. You guide Taz through a series of stages built around running, jumping and his spinning tornado attack, which clears enemies and breaks through obstacles. Taz can also eat items he comes across, with different effects depending on what he swallows. Levels move between outdoor and interior settings, mixing platforming challenges, hazards and enemies drawn from the series, and some sections change the viewpoint or the way Taz moves to vary the pace. The presentation uses bright cartoon artwork, exaggerated character animation and slapstick sound effects in keeping with the show. Controls are simple, with the challenge coming from level layouts, jump timing and knowing when to spin rather than from complex inputs.
