A CD-based version of the point-and-click adventure in which you play as Guybrush Threepwood, a young man on Melee Island who wants to become a pirate. To prove himself, he sets out to complete a set of trials, and soon becomes tangled up with the ghost pirate LeChuck and the island governor Elaine Marley. Gameplay uses a verb-based interface: you select actions such as look, pick up, talk to and use, then combine inventory items and dialogue choices to solve puzzles. Comedy runs throughout, including the insult sword fighting duels where you win by choosing the right comeback rather than by reflexes. This Sega CD release makes use of the disc format for its audio.
