The Sims 2 on Game Boy Advance is a handheld game built around the series' characters rather than a scaled-down version of the computer release. You control a Sim who arrives in a small desert town, and the game is framed as a television production in which your actions play out as episodes. Progress comes from completing objectives for the townspeople, exploring the various locations, and dealing with the odd characters who live there. You still manage basic needs and earn money, which can be spent on items and improvements, but the emphasis is on quests, dialogue and story episodes viewed from a top-down perspective. Character creation lets you set appearance and traits before you begin.
