Three Dirty Dwarves is a side-scrolling beat 'em up for the Sega Saturn. You control a trio of dwarves pulled into the real world, each fighting with a different weapon and style, and you switch between them on the fly as they brawl through city streets and other environments. The remaining two dwarves follow along and can be swapped in when the active character is worn down, so managing all three is part of the strategy. Enemies come in waves and are dispatched with melee swings, thrown objects and ranged attacks, with pickups scattered through the stages. A second player can join in for cooperative play. The presentation is cartoonish and comedic, with exaggerated character designs and offbeat humor throughout.
