Trog is a maze game for the Nintendo Entertainment System, adapted from the arcade original. You control a dinosaur navigating single-screen mazes viewed from overhead, gathering the eggs scattered around each level while cavemen called Trogs roam the same passages trying to catch you. Clearing every egg completes the stage and moves you on to the next layout. Power-ups change the odds, including items that let your dinosaur temporarily transform and turn the tables on the Trogs, and the mazes introduce hazards and new caveman behavior as you progress. The game supports multiple players, so you can cooperate or compete for eggs in the same maze. Presentation uses bright, rounded character sprites modeled on the arcade version's claymation-style artwork, with simple top-down level designs.
