TRON 2.0: Killer App is the Game Boy Advance take on the TRON 2.0 setting, moving the action inside a computer system. Rather than replicate the first-person shooter released on other platforms, this version uses an overhead perspective for its on-foot sections, where you fight hostile programs with the identity disc and collect upgrades as you work through the system's environments. Between those stages the game shifts to vehicle sequences drawn from the TRON universe, including light cycle runs where you try to force opponents into your trailing wall of light. Visually it leans on the neon-on-black look of the films, with glowing circuitry and grid landscapes. Play alternates between combat, navigation and the faster vehicle sections across the course of the campaign.
