Uninvited is a point-and-click horror adventure for the Nintendo Entertainment System, adapted from the MacVenture series of computer games. The story begins with a car crash outside a large house; your sibling has vanished inside, and you go in after them. Play is handled through a menu of verbs such as examine, open, operate and speak, combined with an inventory and an on-screen view of each room. Progress comes from searching furniture, reading documents, collecting items and working out how to use them on obstacles and on the presences that haunt the building. Many actions can kill you or lock you out of finishing, so saving and careful note-taking matter. The atmosphere is built through still illustrations of the mansion's rooms and text describing what you find.
