Cyber Troopers Virtual-On is a one-on-one mech combat game for the Sega Saturn, converted from Sega's arcade original. You pilot a Virtuaroid in enclosed 3D arenas and fight a single opponent at a time, moving freely around the field rather than along a fixed 2D plane. Each machine has a distinct build, with light and heavy weapons plus a close-range attack, and shots can be aimed in different patterns depending on whether you are dashing, standing or turning. Dashing, jumping and crouching are central to avoiding incoming fire, and blocking obstacles in the arena can be used as cover. The arcade cabinet used twin sticks, and the Saturn version maps those controls to the pad, with an arcade-style single-player ladder and a two-player versus mode.
