The Dark Saga brings Warcraft II to the Saturn, packaging the Tides of Darkness campaign together with the Beyond the Dark Portal expansion missions. It is a real-time strategy game in which you gather gold and lumber, raise a base, train soldiers, siege weapons, ships and flying units, and research upgrades before attacking the opposing side. Both human and orc campaigns are included, each with its own units, buildings and spellcasting heroes. The control scheme has been adapted for a gamepad, mapping cursor movement, unit selection and construction menus onto the controller rather than a mouse. Missions range from small raids and escort tasks to full assaults on fortified towns, with story briefings setting up each objective. The fantasy setting, isometric sprite art and unit voice lines carry over from the PC original.
