Wild Gunman is a light gun shooting game played with the NES Zapper. Outlaws face you down in a Western setting, and each duel plays out as a test of reaction time: the opponent stares you down, a prompt to fire appears, and you must shoot within a short window or be gunned down yourself. Later situations place multiple gunmen on screen at once, and a saloon sequence has bandits appearing at windows and doors for you to pick off. The presentation uses large sprite characters and simple animated backdrops rather than scrolling stages. Play is score-driven and built around short rounds, making it a game of quick draws and repeated attempts rather than exploration or level progression.
