Winx Club: Quest for the Codex is a Game Boy Advance title based on the animated fairy series. You guide the Winx fairies through side-scrolling stages, using their magical attacks to deal with enemies and obstacles while working toward the goal suggested by the title. Different fairies bring different elemental powers, and the game uses sprite art and cutscene stills styled after the cartoon to tell its story between levels. Progress is broken into short stages suited to handheld play, with platforming and simple combat making up the bulk of the action. Familiar characters and locations from the show appear throughout. It is built for younger players and viewers of the series rather than as a challenge-focused platformer.
