X-Men: Wolverine's Rage is a side-scrolling action game for Game Boy Color starring Logan. You move through levels fighting enemies with claw attacks and jumping strikes, climbing and leaping across hazards, and facing bosses at the end of stages. Health and other pickups appear along the way, and Wolverine's durability lets him absorb punishment as you push through enemy groups. The game uses sprite-based visuals sized for the handheld, with backgrounds and enemies drawn from the character's corner of the Marvel universe. Play is single-player, structured as a series of linear stages linked by story text. The design keeps to the basics of the genre: learn enemy patterns, time your attacks and jumps, and work through each area to reach the next confrontation.
