Based on the television series about Indiana Jones' youth, this NES release puts you in control of a young Indy across side-scrolling action stages. You move through levels on foot, dealing with enemies and hazards while working toward the exit, with the whip serving as your main tool for both combat and interacting with the environment. Platforming sections ask you to time jumps over gaps and moving obstacles, and stages are set in varied locations drawn from the show's globe-spanning premise. Between action segments, story scenes carry the plot forward. Play is largely trial and error in the style of licensed NES platformers of the era, rewarding memorization of enemy placement and level layouts. Controls are simple, with attack and jump handling most situations.
