NBA Hang Time is an arcade-style two-on-two basketball game, following the same exaggerated approach as Midway's earlier NBA Jam titles. Rules are stripped back with no fouls to worry about, and players leap far above the rim for dunks that would be impossible in a real game. Sinking several shots in a row sets a player on fire, boosting his shooting until the streak is broken. Alley-oops and team-up double dunks let two players combine for high-scoring finishes. A create-a-player option lets you build your own baller and develop attributes across games. Matches use NBA teams and players, and multiple people can play together on one console for team-based or competitive games. Commentary and crowd noise carry over the coin-op presentation.
