Snowboard Kids 2 is a cartoon-styled snowboarding racer for the Nintendo 64. You pick from a cast of young boarders, each with their own board and stats, and race down themed courses that mix jumps, shortcuts and hazards with looping lap-based layouts rather than straight downhill runs. Coins collected on the course are spent at shops between events on better boards and gear, while item panels hand out weapons and traps you can fire at rivals to slow them down. Alongside the main race modes there are trick and target-style events, and multiplayer supports split-screen play against friends. Controls are approachable, with an emphasis on grabbing air off ramps and landing tricks for extra points. The tone is light and colourful throughout, closer to a kart racer on snow than a simulation of the sport.
