Cruis'n Velocity is a handheld entry in the Cruis'n racing series for the Game Boy Advance. You race against a field of rivals on courses built around arcade-style speed, keeping the throttle down, sliding through corners, and using boost and shortcuts to gain position. Tracks are set in a range of locations, and vehicles are chosen from a selection before each race. The GBA version uses a scaling, sprite-based road effect to create the sense of forward motion, with a simple control scheme mapped to the handheld's directional pad and face buttons. Progression comes from placing well enough in races to move on and open up further content. The cartridge plays on Game Boy Advance systems and on Nintendo DS models with a GBA slot.
