Part of the Classic NES Series line for Game Boy Advance, this cartridge reproduces the NES version of Donkey Kong. You play as Mario, climbing girders, ladders, elevators and conveyors while Donkey Kong throws barrels from the top of the structure. Fireballs and other hazards patrol the platforms, and a hammer power-up lets you smash obstacles for a short time, though you cannot climb while carrying it. One stage type has you pulling out the rivets that hold the structure together. Play is single screen and score-driven, looping with increasing difficulty, and two players can take alternating turns. Presentation, sounds and stage layouts follow the original NES release rather than adding new content.
