This Game Boy Advance version of James Pond: Codename RoboCod brings the side-scrolling platformer to a handheld. You control the fish secret agent in a robotic suit that stretches upward, letting you climb, reach high ledges and get at items placed out of normal jumping range. Stages are set in and around a toy factory, packed with sweets, toys and other objects to collect, and their layouts branch into doors and hidden routes that reward looking around instead of heading straight for the exit. Enemies are defeated by bouncing on them, and pick-ups provide temporary boosts and alternative means of travel. The art style is bright and cartoonish and the tone comic, with Dr. Maybe as the villain. Play is structured in short levels that suit portable sessions.
