Mega Man Battle Network 5 Team Colonel is a Game Boy Advance role-playing game in which Lan Hikari operates MegaMan.EXE across the network. Standard battles use the series' real-time grid system, where you draw Battle Chips from a folder you assemble yourself and combine them with MegaMan's movement and buster fire. This entry adds Liberation Missions, turn-based tactical stages where you move a team of Navis across a board of darkened panels, entering timed battles to clear them and reach the enemy commander. Each Navi in the squad has its own liberation ability, so the order and route you choose matters. Team Colonel and Team Protoman share the main story but field different sets of allied Navis, and the two versions can be linked for trading and battling.
