Rebelstar: Tactical Command is a turn-based strategy game for Game Boy Advance, set in a science fiction future where Earth has been occupied by an alien force. You control a small squad of resistance fighters across a campaign of story-linked missions, moving each unit over grid-based maps and spending action points on movement, firing, reloading and using items. Line of sight, cover and weapon accuracy all affect results, and characters carry equipment between battles while gaining experience and improving their skills. Missions have varied objectives such as eliminating enemies, reaching a location or protecting a target, and losing squad members has consequences going forward. The presentation uses an overhead view with sprite-based units and menus for inventory and orders, keeping the focus on tactical decision-making rather than reflexes.
