This Game Boy Advance version of Shrek Superslam adapts the arena fighting concept to a 2D handheld format. You choose a character from the Shrek films and battle opponents in enclosed stages, using basic attacks, jumps and special moves to knock down rivals. Matches are short and built around learning each fighter's timing and reach, with power-up items and stage elements factoring into fights. Single-player play strings together a series of battles, unlocking more content as you win, and characters differ in speed, strength and attack range. The presentation uses sprite-based art and stage backdrops themed on locations from the movies. Controls are kept to the handheld's limited button layout, so attacks are simple to perform and matches are easy to pick up for younger players.
