Sonic Battle is an arena fighting game for the Game Boy Advance. Matches take place in small enclosed 3D-styled arenas viewed from above, where up to four characters fight using ground and air combos, ranged attacks and defensive moves. The roster is drawn from the Sonic series, and each fighter has a distinct set of attacks and a powerful special that charges during battle. The story mode follows Sonic and friends after they find a robot named Emerl, who can copy skills from the characters he fights. As you play through the chapters you assign the skills Emerl has learned to his attack slots, building a custom fighter. Alongside the story there are single battles, training and multiplayer matches via link cable.
