Super Robot Taisen Original Generation 2 is a turn-based tactical role-playing game played on grid maps. Rather than using licensed mecha from anime series, it draws entirely on original characters and machines created for the Super Robot Wars franchise, continuing a story told across scenario-based missions with dialogue between battles. You deploy a squad of pilots and units, move them across terrain, and initiate attacks that cut to animated close-up sequences showing weapons fire and melee strikes. Pilots gain experience and skills, units can be upgraded and equipped with parts, and spirit commands let you spend a pilot's energy to boost accuracy, damage or movement for a turn. Careful positioning matters, since counterattacks, evasion rates and terrain effects all influence the outcome of an exchange.
