Surf's Up is a game based on the animated film about surfing penguins. You take part in surfing races and trick runs, riding waves while building up speed, chaining aerial and rail-style tricks, and using tubes and ramps to gain an advantage over rival competitors. The Game Boy Advance version is built around 2D handheld play, with wave courses that ask you to balance clean lines against risky trick attempts for a higher score. Characters and settings are drawn from the film, including Cody Maverick and the tournament setting that drives the movie's story. Modes typically cover straight competition against other surfers as well as runs focused on scoring, with progression unlocking further events. Controls are simple and pick-up-and-play oriented rather than simulation-minded.
