The Urbz: Sims in the City on Game Boy Advance is a handheld take on the concept rather than a scaled-down version of the console game. You create a character and work through a story set in the city, meeting a cast of residents, taking on tasks and building relationships to progress. The presentation uses an overhead perspective, and you move your Urb around interconnected locations, talking to people, gathering items and solving problems for them. Needs such as hunger and energy still require attention, and money earned along the way pays for clothing, objects and other purchases. Much of the play involves short minigames tied to jobs and activities. The structure leans more toward adventure-style objectives and dialogue than the open-ended household management of the main Sims series.
