This Game Boy Advance version of Tomb Raider: Legend reworks the console adventure into a handheld, side-on platformer. You control Lara Croft through a series of stages built from ledges, ropes, ladders and hazards, running and jumping between platforms, hanging from edges and shooting enemies as they appear. Progress depends on reading each screen carefully, since gaps, spikes and drops sit between you and the exit, and switches or crates often need to be dealt with before a route opens. The sprite-based presentation keeps the tomb interiors, machinery and outdoor environments of the story it follows, condensed into shorter levels suited to portable play. Controls are built around the GBA's limited buttons, with jumping, grabbing and weapon fire handled from a fixed viewpoint.
