V-Rally 3 on Game Boy Advance is a rally racing game built around point-to-point stages rather than circuit racing. You drive rally cars along narrow roads through varied environments and surfaces, with the clock rather than a pack of rivals setting the challenge. Handling accounts for grip differences between tarmac, gravel, dirt and snow, and co-driver pace notes warn you of upcoming corners and hazards. A championship structure strings stages together into events, with damage and time penalties carrying consequences across a rally. Single stages and time trial options let you practise individual routes. The handheld release uses a behind-the-car 3D presentation, with a compact heads-up display showing your time, gear and upcoming turn indicators.
