Kirby's Avalanche is a competitive falling-block puzzle game for the Super Nintendo using Kirby characters. Pairs of coloured blobs drop into your well, and you rotate and place them so that four or more of the same colour touch and disappear. Clearing groups in chains sends garbage blobs into your opponent's well, so the goal is to build large reactions rather than simply keep your own field clear. The main mode is a ladder of one-on-one matches against computer opponents from the Kirby cast, with brief comic exchanges before each fight and increasing difficulty as you advance. There is also a two-player versus mode on a split screen, plus practice options for adjusting speed and difficulty.
