Super Mario Galaxy is a 3D platformer for the Nintendo Wii. Mario travels between small planetoids and space stations, where localized gravity lets you run around the outside of spheres, fall between nearby bodies, and launch from Sling Stars to reach distant objects. Levels are organized as galaxies accessed from a hub observatory, and completing objectives awards Power Stars that open up further areas. The Wii Remote pointer collects and fires Star Bits, and a shake of the remote performs a spin attack used on enemies and switches. Power-ups transform Mario for specific challenges, including Bee Mario for flight and Boo Mario for passing through walls. A second player can assist with a pointer to gather Star Bits and stun enemies. Bowser and the Koopalings appear as bosses.
