An action-adventure for Wii built around motion controls, requiring the Wii MotionPlus accessory. Sword swings follow the angle of your movement, so enemies that guard along one axis must be struck from another direction, and shield use, bomb throwing and items such as the beetle and whip are also mapped to motion. Link begins in Skyloft, a town on floating islands above the clouds, and travels down to surface regions below on his Loftwing, flying between areas in the sky. The surface regions mix exploration, combat and puzzle solving with dungeon-style challenges spread across the open landscape rather than confined to dungeons alone. A stamina meter governs sprinting and climbing, and equipment can be upgraded with materials gathered during your travels.
