A cinematic platformer that continues the story of Another World, casting you as the alien companion from that game rather than its human protagonist. You move through underground caverns, alien architecture and open landscapes, using a whip-like weapon and careful timing to deal with enemies and hazards. As in its predecessor, the emphasis is on observation and repetition: screens function as short puzzles where a single mistake is usually fatal, and you learn each sequence by dying and adjusting. Controls are animation-based, with running, jumping, hanging and climbing rendered in fluid rotoscoped frames. The Sega CD release makes use of the disc format for CD audio and animated story sequences, and it also includes a version of Another World itself, so both halves of the story can be played from the same disc.
