Aero the Acro-Bat 2 is a side-scrolling platformer for the Super Nintendo and a sequel to the first Aero game, once again pitting the acrobatic bat against Edgar Ektor. Aero runs, jumps and uses his spinning drill attack through a set of themed worlds, with level layouts built around exploration as well as reaching the goal. The sequel expands Aero's move set and mixes in vehicle and ride sequences alongside standard platforming, and levels hide items and alternate routes for players who search thoroughly. Enemies and hazards are placed to test timed jumps and air control, and boss encounters cap off stretches of the game. The presentation keeps the bright cartoon look and circus-flavoured setting of the original, with detailed sprite work and a fast soundtrack.
