Home Improvement for the Super Nintendo is a side-scrolling action game based on the television sitcom. You play Tim Taylor, who arrives to find the sets of his show overrun and the master tapes missing, sending him through themed areas populated by dinosaurs, robots and other studio creations. Tim fights using power tools: a nail gun, a blowtorch and other implements each work at different ranges, and you switch between them as situations demand. Ammunition and health pickups are hidden around the stages, encouraging you to search platforms and side paths. The game famously shipped without printed instructions, leaving players to work out controls and objectives in play. Levels are laid out as multi-screen environments with platforming, enemies to clear and bosses at the end of sections.
