This is the Super Nintendo conversion of Capcom's arcade fighter Street Fighter Alpha 2. It keeps the series' six-button layout, best-of-three rounds and the Alpha art style, along with the roster of returning Street Fighter characters and Alpha newcomers such as Sakura, Rose and Dan. The core systems carry over: a multi-level super combo gauge, Alpha Counters to interrupt an opponent while blocking, and Custom Combos that spend meter to let you string normals and specials together freely. Because of the cartridge's limits, the port compresses the arcade presentation, and short pauses appear while data loads between screens and matches. Play options cover the single-player arcade ladder against CPU opponents, two-player versus on a single console, and practice against a stationary opponent.
