Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy is a Game Boy Advance adventure that crosses the Spyro series over with Crash Bandicoot, pairing Ripto with Doctor Neo Cortex as the villains. It was designed as a companion to a Crash Bandicoot GBA release, with link-cable features between the two. Play uses an overhead perspective, with Spyro running, charging and flaming his way through areas, talking to characters and taking on tasks. A large part of the game is built from minigames and one-off challenges rather than pure platforming, including races and boss encounters against Crash characters. Sprite-based visuals and a hub-and-level structure keep the pace suited to handheld play, and Sparx appears in his usual role tracking Spyro's health.
