Xenophobe is a home conversion of the arcade shooter for the Nintendo Entertainment System. You take on the role of an exterminator sent aboard space stations that have been overrun by hostile aliens, working through corridors and rooms viewed from the side. Movement is spread across multiple decks connected by lifts, and you clear each station by killing the infestation before it can spread further and force an evacuation. Aliens appear in several forms at different stages of growth, from small crawling creatures to larger and more dangerous adults, and weapons and items are scattered around the levels for you to pick up. The NES version supports two players cooperating at once, with the screen split so each exterminator can operate in a different part of the station.
