Brute Force is a squad-based third-person shooter for the Xbox. You control a team of soldiers with distinct specialities, switching between them at will during missions while the others follow orders you issue. One member is a straightforward assault trooper, while others favour stealth, marksmanship or close-quarters attack, and progress often depends on using the right member for the situation rather than fighting everything head-on. Missions take place across alien worlds, with objectives that involve clearing hostile creatures and enemy forces, holding positions and reaching extraction points. Weapons and ammunition are picked up in the field and can be passed around the squad. Fallen members can be revived, and the campaign supports co-operative play as well as competitive multiplayer modes on the console.
