A 3D platformer set across Bikini Bottom and its surrounding areas. Plankton's plan to build an army of obedient robots goes wrong, and the machines end up loose all over town, so SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy set out to clean up the mess. You switch between the three characters at bus stops, with each one handling differently: SpongeBob uses bubble-based attacks and moves, Patrick can pick up and throw objects, and Sandy swings from hooks with her lasso. Progress runs on collecting Golden Spatulas, earned by finishing tasks, beating platforming challenges and defeating bosses, while shiny objects act as currency for opening new paths. Hub worlds connect the individual levels, and side characters hand out optional objectives. Voice work and visual style follow the cartoon.
