SSX Tricky on Xbox is an arcade snowboarding game set on oversized mountain courses laced with ramps, rails, tunnels and alternate routes. You select a rider from a cast with differing speed, trick and stability ratings, then enter races and score-based trick events. Riding cleanly and landing tricks builds a boost meter; filling it completely lets you perform Uber tricks, elaborate signature moves worth heavy points that feed back into more boost. Races allow contact, so shoving rivals off their line is part of the competition, and courses reward learning where the shortcuts and big air opportunities are. Winning events unlocks extra riders, boards and outfits. Runs are accompanied by an announcer and a licensed music soundtrack, and two players can compete in split-screen.
