Vindicators is a home conversion of an Atari coin-op tank game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. You control a tank viewed from overhead, driving through walled maze-like bases while shooting enemy turrets, tanks and other defenses. Fuel drains as you move, so collecting fuel pods and keys to open doors is as important as combat. Destroying certain targets yields stars that can be spent between stages to upgrade your tank's speed, firepower, shields and shot range. Levels are laid out as fortified installations with a goal to reach and destroy. Two players can play simultaneously, each controlling their own tank, sharing the same screen and cooperating to clear a base. The tank turret can be rotated independently of your direction of travel.
