World Games is a multi-event sports compilation for the Nintendo Entertainment System, following the format of Epyx's other event-based titles. Rather than standard track and field, it gathers unusual competitions from around the world, including weightlifting, barrel jumping, cliff diving, log rolling, slalom skiing, bull riding and sumo wrestling. Each event has its own control scheme, mixing rapid button tapping for power, timed presses for balance and directional input for steering or positioning. Players choose a country to represent and can compete through all the events in sequence, practise individual ones, or take turns against friends passing the controller. Scores and times are recorded after each attempt, with brief introductions setting the scene for the different locations.
