Felix the Cat on Game Boy is a side-scrolling platformer starring the classic cartoon character. Felix runs, jumps and uses his Magic Bag of Tricks, which transforms into different tools and vehicles depending on how powered up he is. Collecting hearts raises his form, turning the bag into things like a boxing glove, a car, a boat, an aircraft or an underwater vehicle, while taking hits knocks him back down to weaker states. Stages vary the setting between ground levels, water sections and airborne flight sequences, so the way you attack changes as the terrain does. Levels end with boss encounters, and the goal running through the game is rescuing Felix's kidnapped companion. The look and animation keep close to the cartoon's simple black-and-white style.
