Prehistorik Man is a side-scrolling platformer for Game Boy starring a club-wielding caveman. You run, jump and swing your way through prehistoric stages, striking enemies and breakable scenery while collecting food and items scattered across each level. Stages include caves, jungles and other Stone Age settings, with hazards, moving platforms and hidden areas to find, plus sections that change up the basic running and jumping with different vehicles or movement gimmicks. The cartoon art style is exaggerated and comedic, and the sprite work packs a fair amount of animation into the handheld's screen. Levels are fairly long and demand careful jumps, so expect to learn layouts through repetition. A traditional action platformer suited to players who enjoy classic mascot-style handheld games.
