Tetris on Game Boy is the handheld version of the falling-block puzzle game. Seven tetromino shapes drop into a well one at a time, and you rotate and slide them to build complete horizontal lines, which then vanish and drop everything above them. Clear enough lines and the pieces fall faster; stack too high and the game ends. Two main modes are offered: an endless game that continues until you top out, and a mode that starts the well pre-filled with junk rows for you to clear away. The presentation is simple monochrome graphics with a set of chiptune tunes, including the well-known Russian-flavoured themes. Two players can compete head to head using a Game Link Cable, sending pressure to the opponent by clearing multiple lines at once.
