Kris Kross: Make My Video is part of Sega CD's Make My Video line, which uses the console's full-motion video capability for music video editing rather than conventional gameplay. You are given a request describing the kind of video someone wants, then choose a Kris Kross song and assemble a cut from banks of footage, applying visual filters and effects to the clips as the track plays. When the song finishes, your edit is played back and scored against how well it matched the brief. The emphasis is on selecting and layering video rather than on reflexes, and there are no enemies, levels or lives. Sessions are short and centred on the music and the accompanying video material. A curiosity from the early CD-ROM era, when consoles were being pitched as multimedia machines as much as game systems.
