A chess game for Sega CD that dresses the standard rules in Star Wars trappings. One side's pieces are drawn from the Rebel Alliance and its allies, the other from the Empire, with each piece type represented by a different character or droid. Play follows conventional chess: the pieces keep their normal movement and capture rules, and you can face the computer at a range of difficulty settings or play against another person. When a capture occurs, the game cuts to a short animated sequence in which the two pieces fight it out before the result is applied to the board. Presentation makes use of the Sega CD's disc storage for these animations, digitized sound and music. Options for board views and hints are included.
