007 Racing puts you behind the wheel of gadget-equipped cars from the James Bond films for a series of mission-based driving stages. Rather than lap racing against a field of rivals, each level gives you objectives to complete while under fire: chasing down enemy vehicles, escorting or intercepting targets, escaping pursuit and reaching checkpoints before time runs out. Your car carries offensive and defensive equipment such as weapons and countermeasures, which you trigger while steering through city streets, industrial areas and open roads. Levels are framed with story sequences and mission briefings that tie the assignments together. Handling sits on the arcade side, with the emphasis on combat and objective completion rather than realistic driving physics. A single-player campaign structure forms the bulk of the game on PlayStation.
